Flowers
I love painting flowers on location. I find a cozy spot in the shade, near a patch of flowers, and paint as fast as I can! The light changes quickly, expecially on partly cloudy days. Outdoors, I focus on capturing accurate colour relationships. Later in my studio, I will often adjust things like small details that I don't have time to put in outside.
Dandelions are few people's favourite flower. But they are an important source of food for spring pollinators. And what is more cheerful than a field of bright yellow dandelions? When they go to seed, memories of childhood become a new source of inspiration.
