TSA Friday - Shona

Posted: July 31st, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Alla-Prima Painting, Life Painting, TSA | No Comments »

I attended the long pose at the TSA last night and completed this small alla prima painting. I haven’t painted the figure since June of last year (unless you count the abstract ones from Brian Smith’s course on abstracting the figure).

It was satisfying to be painting the figure again, and I plan on shaking off my painting rust in the weeks to come.

John is a landscape painter who occasionally goes out to paint with me. I photographed him and painted this in the studio, with the help of a colour study completed that day in the park.
