TSA Sunday
Posted: January 10th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Life Drawing, TSA |There are drawing days when my hand just doesn’t cooperate. What a lousy morning I had! I have posted a few sketches nonetheless. All of these are short poses (1-10 min) of the model Amanda — the 15-20 minute are now in the recycling.
The long pose this afternoon was a little better. I played around with cross-hatching, which is still rough but improving. That’s the drawing at the top, and the model was Claudette.

Hi Chantal
Always great to see your drawings on your blog. I know exactly what you mean about the ‘bad’ days. There are times when I feel that I need to be re-trained - especially if I have been away from it for a week or so. But, we must remember it is an art, not a science. I don’t think I want to get to the point where I can draw and not ever fail. Where’s the fun in that?
Keep working at it and the fun will continue.

Hmmm… drawing and not ever failing! I love that idea! But the truth is that it’s often through failed drawings that we improve. One step back often leads to two steps forward. And it’s why I stayed for the afternoon session in spite of my bad morning.
Hello,
I am looking for life drawing sessions around Toronto. I used to go to the TSA weekend drop-in sessions, but cannot find any information about them now. Do they still run them?
I’d appreciate any info you can provide.
The TSA runs sessions on Thursdays 7-10, Fridays 6:30-9:30, Sundays 9-12:30, 1-4 (long pose), 6:30-9:30. They also have a two week long pose on Fridays, 6-10pm.
OCAD runs sessions on Wed and Saturdays, have a look at their calendar for exact times.
